I finished up the work for Tottenville High School’s musical earlier in the week. If you are interested in seeing photos of their 2006 production of Jesus Christ Superstar you can to go http://www.thsperformingarts.org. I am still hunting volunteers to help them out next year. I need technicians as well as equipment such as lights and mics. Talk to me when you see me if you want to help. Just in case there is some sort of community service requirement for graduation, this would certainly help.

I still have to work on the indoor guard photos from chapters. Since I have class all day tomorrow, that will probably happen late tomorrow night or sometime Sunday. As far as the indoor guard DVDs go, I will try to remember to give BVP a call next week and place the order. I’m not sure if I should order just finals from this year or what, so if you were a part of indoor guard this year and have an opinion, comment and let me know. Since Friday is pay day that’s probably when I will place the order.

I will try to finish them up over the weekend or get through as much as possible. Unfortunately I can’t make it to Wildwood, so I’ll be in Maryland working on stuff most of the time. I will have pics from TIA Chapter Championships as soon as I finish everything from THS, and will order the Wildwood TIA videos from BVP for this year and previous years once I find out what’s available.

I’m rebuilding my home office here in Maryland, but I’m still a few nights away from having it all put together. I really need to finish everything for Tottenville HS, it’s been 3 weeks or so. Indoor guard – chapters at CD East this weekend, I’ll be there for the performance but it may take a while to get photos posted.

I’ve been somewhat busy, but largely slacking while I still can. I will actually work on the indoor guard videos tonight and at least get them recorded into Windows Media format so I can convert and upload them remotely if needed.

I start work in Delaware on Monday, and I have at least a week of cheap hotel living ahead of me, possibly two weeks. It’s fair to say I’ll be splitting my time between work, the hotel and hunting a residence during the week, and weekends at my apartment in Harrisburg. That should be interesting. If possible I will be at a few of the indoor guard shows, I will be at Chapters (CD East) for sure, I still don’t know about Wildwood. It’s probably a good bet that if I want to tag along to Disney that I won’t be able to spend more than a day or two in Wildwood, maybe not even overnight.

Updates when I know something…

The conversion to Gallery2 has been completed and the new photo gallery is now online. Things are different from the old system and I still have to make some design changes and configure the shopping cart. Total downtime was a little over 5 1/2 hours, too bad I don’t get paid by the hour for this.

Still importing, I’m down to everything from Beauty & the Beast. Apparently it takes a while to transfer 11,700 files into a different management system. It could still be a while before this finishes. I’ll test the shopping cart and add the Paypal payment module to it later tonight if I can figure it out. There will still be additional changes while I figure out all fo the design aspects of Gallery2.

Oh, and “If it ain’t baroke, don’t fix it” is a category on the episode of Win Ben Stein’s money that’s on GSN right now.

It works… It’s there, it’s configured, it took almost 2 hours and I am starting to import things now. If everything is stable, I’ll migrate the band site in a few months. I will post again when I am done importing everything.

The musical photo gallery site has been taken down and will be unavailable for the next several hours while it is upgraded to Gallery2. Additional notices will be posted here as needed and on the site news page at http://www.sthsmusical.org/sitesnews.shtml.

Testing on the Gallery 2 migration process for the musical site has been completed. I will be taking the musical photo gallery down starting at 9pm tomorrow (Monday) night until the upgrade is completed. I don’t know exactly how long this will take, considering that I have to migrate each album individually and there are over 11,000 photos overall. There may be other maintenance periods for testing and design work, I will try to do the work on the test server first, or limit these outages to nights between 10pm and 2am.

Online ordering will be available sometime Tuesday or Wednesday after I configure the shopping cart
