Some of the other additions this weekend: I finally went through and processed all of the 2008 season videos that were given to me many months ago by Dave Miller along with the 2008 video from the top of Chambersburg’s stadium.  The quality may not be the best because I propped the camera on something instead of shooting with a tripod.

I’ve released the Susquehanna Township Performing Arts page on Facebook, so check it out and let me know what you would like posted and what you would like to see from me this year.  I encourage everyone to invite and tag your friends, and I will do my best to upload and tag something for all of the students and alumni if I have something in my collection.

Help me cover the expenses of running the sites and traveling to PA by buying photos and DVDs or paypal me a couple bucks.

Because of the missed shows and the rescheduling of dress rehearsals I will only have two collections this year. However I did things differently and shot a lot more photos than ever before. As a result, there may be numerous duplicates of photos that are already on the site that were not posted. If there is something you are interested in ordering and want to see if a duplicate with possibly a different pose is available, please contact me and I will search the originals.

I never worked out the online ordering system, and that is still on my list of things along with the lost collection from The Sound of Music.  If you would like to participate in a test of a new deployment of Gallery2, please contact me.  I will be experimenting with some things in a few months including Gallery2 and some server updates including some possible hardware changes or updates.

I am working on a video and the details of how to release it for a general sale.  I have not finished converting all the tapes but once I do I will try to find some time to preview the finished products.  The finished sale product might be a cut and paste of the two days due to the general inability for camcorders to automatically adjust to very bright lighting.  It will be a few weeks before I have news on this.  Check back soon for updates.

Photos from this year’s show are going to be the two performances only. It would have been too much work and too difficult to turn everything around from a rehearsal on a performance day and I didn’t want to go into the show blind (even though I can do that and still turn out good results). I was working on wedding photos last night from after dinner until past 3am and finished them up today. I’ve only been away from the computer long enough to do some laundry, take out the trash and get some sleep. Guess I’ll do my errands and grocery shopping after my CPR training tomorrow morning. I’m hoping to have act 1 completed and processed in time to upload everything from work on Sunday, anything more is a bonus.

A few people have asked about a video. Yes I did shoot a video from the booth of Saturday’s rehearsal and the two shows. I’m working on converting everything to digital format so I can do the editing. This was a completely unattended process, I haven’t watched everything during the conversion and haven’t decided on whether or not I’ll release it for public sale. It looks like if I do release it for sale you’ll get Saturday’s show plus Sunday’s presentations as the rehearsal was minus a few people and Sunday was shot with a filter as an experiment. I’ll make a decision once all the other work is completed and I’ve had time to prepare and preview a DVD. This is probably a few weeks away.

I am also in the middle of completing a new wedding photography site and I have nearly 1000 shots from this past weekend to screen through in addition to the estimated 1000 per night I’ll have from the show. I’ll be up Thursday afternoon for the rehearsal and will try to get a video from the booth and maybe even investigate getting the rights for a sale (though I doubt that’s possible).

Finally, because I will have limited information prior to the show, please pay attention during the day and check the chorus room for postings and schedule changes. When in doubt, check with Mr. Royer, Dr. Sexsmith, Mrs. P or Mrs. Burghdorf. See you after school Thursday.

What I Want: I’m looking for any photos, videos, recordings, programs, other items related to STSD music. This could be from a personal collection, family, friends, and there’s the possibility that archives exist at the schools but nobody really knows. There are also teachers who assign reviews as projects or extra credit and require tickets or programs as proof. Whatever it is, find it & get it to me, and whatever it is, I will return it after I duplicate it and will post it on one of my various sites with the appropriate credits. Submissions will not be resold.

The Reward: Anyone who submits something will be credited on the appropriate site. I will offer several $25 gift cards drawn every month as a reward to all who participate. If you locate something prior to 1998 it’s worth $50, and something extremely rare/unique could be worth more. You don’t have to be an STSD student, employee or alumni, you just have to get the goods.

Disclaimer: This is my offer and my money. I’m doing this because I’m a nice person and I think that there are people out there that have things saved and have forgotten about them or just don’t realize they had it. You can’t submit something each month to get another entry. Just please give me everything up front and I will see that you at least get something for your trouble. If this causes problems or I get complaints, the offer ends. When the offer ends, don’t let that discourage you from sending stuff to me.
