Online ordering is available in a limited capacity for now. It turns out that because I installed a prerelease version of Gallery2, that the email and Paypal shopping carts don’t work. I will have to wait for an update to be released once the next “final” version of Gallery2 is released. Until then, contact me for help with ordering, or email me the contents of the cart along with what you want. I will get some interim ordering instructions written and posted as soon as I can.

Earlier in the week I screened through all of the photos from this year’s show so I could provide some selections to the yearbook staff. During this process, I noticed that I was missing the end of the Feb 11 Canon set, so I went back to my originals and screened the remaining 100 or so photos. I uploaded the ones that were missing, and I am working on getting them added to the site. The new photos will be in place as soon as I fix some technical issues on the admin side of Gallery2.

I’m finishing up screening all of the photos and making selections to submit to the yearbook staff. In the process, I discovered about 100 photos at the end of the February 11 Canon set that were not processed. I just finished processing them and will get them uploaded and added to the site later today.

The indoor guard will be at Lower Dauphin HS on Saturday and I plan on attending to photograph the performance. I should also have some videos to add after that.

Alrite, seems I made a mistake with the shopping cart and checkout module. The site is currently running what’s called a release candidate version of Gallery2. Upon attempting to install the checkout modules tonight I found out that they are not written for the release candidate. At this point it would take several days to restore and upload the old information and 8-12 hours to rebuild everything into the “current release”. No thanks… it’s not worth it to me. There aren’t any orders coming in right now anyway, which doesn’t really help me.

In the meantime, use the shopping cart that’s in place and just email all the information to me. I will make sure that a price list and some ordering instructions are posted on the site. Once the updated software is released, then the ordering process will be automated. However, if I upgrade the band site to Gallery 2 in the next few months, I will make sure everything is set for automated ordering.

The conversion to Gallery 2 started at 9pm last night and has been completed successfully. I will be monitoring things closely over the next several days and will be making changes for the shopping cart and probably design changes as well. Still importing, I’m down to everything from Beauty & the Beast. Apparently it takes a while to transfer 11,700 files into a different management system. It could still be a while before this finishes. I’ll test the shopping cart and add the Paypal payment module to it later tonight if I can figure it out. There will still be additional changes while I figure out all fo the design aspects of Gallery2.

Oh, and “If it ain’t baroke, don’t fix it” is a category on the episode of Win Ben Stein’s money that’s on GSN right now.

Testing on the Gallery 2 migration process for the musical site has been completed. I will be taking the musical photo gallery down starting at 9pm tomorrow (Monday) night until the upgrade is completed. I don’t know exactly how long this will take, considering that I have to migrate each album individually and there are over 11,000 photos overall. There may be other maintenance periods for testing and design work, I will try to do the work on the test server first, or limit these outages to nights between 10pm and 2am.

I don’t have any JCC or YFC shows, if someone has them and wants to loan me their camcorder and original tapes, I can transfer them to DVD. I have Beauty & the Beast, I haven’t watched it completely, but I have it on DVD including the 20 min or half hour of presentations at the end. All photos from Beauty & the Beast have been uploaded. I will be scanning and adding the program later today, probably after I get home from set destruction. The upgrade to Gallery 2 will still take place sometime this week if all goes well. I will do my best to make sure the upgrade takes place during an offpeak time (usually after 11pm or midnight). I’ll be updating some text including copyright information, and performing the upgrade to Gallery 2 within the next few days so I can bring the online ordering system into operation.
